Shopping and Basketball

Melissa, Katie, and I finally found an evening to go shopping for outfits for Bobby and Bek's wedding! We had a blast at MacArthur mall. I was the only one who found an outfit but now I don't know if I like it that well!

We tried on these huge hats in Forever 21

The trip home was probably the best part of the night. We wanted to make it to Josiah's basketball game by 8:00. That went out the window though when we got lost! Can you believe it...I have lived here for almost 10 years and I couldn't even get us home from Norfolk! We made it to the game by half time, giggling the whole way!

Here's a video we made. When we recorded it we didn't realize that our camera doesn't have sound. I just thought it would be fun to post it. It begins when we are finally on the right track and then we rush into the basketball game.

Chore Day at the Smith's

Today was Chore Day. Mom wants the house to be in tip top shape come wedding time. Here's all of our jobs...

Jordan did yard work: Mowing, Power washing, and edging.

Josiah helped Jordan in the yard. Here he is picking up sticks.

Melissa had to dust all the cob webs in the house, and clean all of the light fixtures.

Dad took out these old slabs at the bottom of our deck to put in a little brick platform. It's not quite finished yet.

Mom, among other normal household jobs, organized her closet.

And then me. My job was to organize the pantry. Here are before and after photos...

Melissa helped me finish when she was done with her jobs. We had a lot of fun together singing crazily to our old Avalon CD as we worked!

Free Smoothies!

What ? Free Smoothies?
Yup! Today for National Flip Flop Day at Tropical Smoothie they gave away free smoothies to customers wearing flip flops! Katie remembered this morning at work so we trusted Jordan to take care of the shop while we ran to get smoothies!

I wasn't wearing flip flops today so I barrowed Jordan's. They were a little big!

When Katie and I got back to FASTSIGNS, Jordan and Wes took their turn getting free smoothies. They were delicious! Why do things taste so much better when they're free?!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Dad! We love you so much and can't thank you enough for all you have done for us. Thank you for working diligently to provide for us, for teaching us the ways of the Lord, disciplining us, giving us wise counsel, for modeling what a Godly husband looks like, for your heart of worship, and for being the greatest dad ever! Thank you for opening your home, making it a place where we and our friends love to be...even though it has taken some great wear and tear! Thanks for all the nights we stayed up so late, when you could have kicked everyone out and said it's time for bed. Thank you for being not only our Dad but our dear friend. We love you forever!!!!!!

On Father's day we hung out at the Y pool after church with Beau and Debra and Clay and Kate, and then we had a big cookout for dinner.

Kisses from Mexico...

On Saturday night we had a Singles' Mexican Night. It was Melissa's first singles' meeting. Jordan, Mel and I are all in singles together, but it is only for one month. We had lots of fun with festive games and the highlight: The Limbo! Our cousin Katie D. won of course!

The first contest was seeing who could eat the hottest peppers and sauces. Lizzy won!

Kate and Clay helped to plan and served at the party.
It's a blast to have them there with us!
