A Quiet House

Things here at the Smith house have been pretty quiet...Jordan, Maggie, and Melissa have been in Kentucky at a conference for singles called New Attitude. It is 4 days of intense teaching and extreme fun! They are on their way home tonight..please pray for safe travel!
Josiah has been home with us (you have to be 18 to go to the conference). It has been so different to just have one kid at home, but we made some sweet memories. I usually make the girls go with me to get flowers for the porch but he went this time, and of course he was my escort to the grocery store a couple of times! He had lot's of homework so while he did that Joe and I have been busy doing spring cleaning all weekend and even yesterday(Monday)..getting ready for Melissa's graduation and in prep. for the wedding too. This morning Joe said he was glad he could get back to work today so he could get some rest...ha! I guess I'm a hard task master! We are very excited that the Bauers are coming from Atlanta and will arrrive here tomorrow night. Caleb will participate in the SGC graduation open house this weekend with Melissa and the rest of the graduates.
Having the house quiet has made me think alot about my life and the blessing these 4 kids are to me. They have brought me so much joy, more than words can adequately express....it is like having 4 best friends (5 including Joe) living with me. I am a blessed woman forsure! I would love to get really emo here and continue writing, but I must get back to my house cleaning before the company arrives. I will hold that thought for another time! Looking forward to posting "A Night In The Life" again tomorrow night and seeing all you other bloggers posts on what goes on at your house on a Wednesday night! Gotta scoot for now.....

A Night in the Life...

Tonight everyone was at home! We were all doing different things but
it was nice to know we were all here.

Mom and Dad - Mom was doing laundry and Dad was watching the Pistons

Melissa was taking the last chemistry test of her High School career!

Hurray! She's finished!

I was making blueberry muffins for our long drive to New Attitude.
We can't wait to go!

Jordan got these b-ball shoes at the mall today. They were a great deal but whenever he gets something new he always debates whether it's worth keeping! Who knows if he'll still have them tomorrow? Speaking of being frugal with money...
This is Jordan's "booty" (as he likes to call it). Getting married, he's pinching the pennies, so tonight he gathered up all his change to trade in for cash.

Josiah played with my mac. He was making a song on garage band. Did I mention he's a great singer? I'll have to post a secret recording of him singing sometime! : )

I am so grateful for such a wonderful family. I have been blessed to have Godly siblings and parents. They spur me on in my walk with the Lord everyday. I love them with all my heart and will never stop loving to be with them!

Friday Night Fun

Here's a peak into our home on a Friday night when we're all just hanging out...it starts with somebody dropping by and before you know it we got a party goin on! The party usually includes Clay and Jord talking about their big muscles, ping pong games, a look on "Youtube" for the latest cool video, a look in the pantry/fridge for something to munch on, talk of how much everyone misses cousins Nate and Caleb, and lots of laughter. Joe and I find great joy in the fact that our kids love to be home and they love to have their friends here too! Speaking of friends, the kids that aren't ours in the photos include Beau (Joey's best friend), Jordan's fiancee' J'Nelle, Cousin Clay, Pete and Michael (both just got home from college, Matt (who lives here and goes to ODU), and Wes (works at Fastsigns and is courting Cousin Katie:). We couldn't ask for better friends for our kids..each one of these young people has a love for the Savior and their families, a committment to the local church and are just tons of fun too!

A wedding just around the corner!

Here are some of Jordan and J'Nelle's engagement pictures. A lady from church took them in down town Norfolk. They turned out great! What a cute couple. Their wedding is July 28th. We can't wait and are so excited that the Lord has knit their hearts together. They have truely glorified God through their relationship. There's not a couple more in love!!!!!!

Funny Photos

We take these pictures almost every day with my mac computer. Many times when I'm supposed to be doing homework I get distracted and me and mom laugh until we cry!
